Cody Kauhl and I will be performing Excursus: Three Art Songs for Soprano and Flexible Media at the Toronto International Electroacoustic Symposium on August 13th, 2016. We will be featured on the 4th Symposium Concert at 15:30 at Geary Lane (360 Geary Ave, Toronto). Tickets are $15 for the general public and $10 for students; if you are registered for TIES, this concert is included in your registration. In addition to performing Excursus: Three Art Songs for Soprano and Flexible Media, we will be giving a preview performance of our new music under the duo name Catherinette. "After a series of performances across the country, Mikaela Sullivan and Cody Kauhl have utilized their skills in electronic art song and contemporary songwriting to develop a new body of work under the duo name, Catherinette. Inspired by bands such as Sylvan Esso, Passion Pit and Ibeyi, Kauhl uses clear and comprehensible sample-based electronics to amplify Sullivan's vulnerable yet bold vocals." We are very excited to share our new music with you! The concert is free, and there will be many other Charlotte Street Performing Arts Studio Residents performing on Friday afternoon.
